Dave Salch is an ordained pastor, husband of 1, father of 13, farmer, retired tech executive, teacher. He was called into the ministry as a young boy as the son of a lay preacher back in the 1970s.

As a young man he witnessed first hand the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and miracles of that decade, the 1970s. He witnesses healing and deliverance on a weekly basis that were miraculous and memorable. Miracles so common they became routine.

Then came the 1980s and the great falling away, people seduced by the root of the prosperity gospel. People praising the miracles and demanding benefits from God instead of repenting form sin. He watched his dad, the preacher, plead with people to stay focused on the miracle worker, not the miracles. Few listened. The “church” walked away from holiness and repentance seeking riches and comfort. Soon the miracles ceased.

David was ordained shortly after his father’s death during the 1980s. The first ministry was to take on the church (as well as business) from his dad. In the beginning they both prospered, providing a bit of relief in troubled times. But that was only a vacation from the lessons of life.

Immaturity and inexperience brought failure to David’s first real ministry, and ultimately he spent a couple of decades floating around lost, disillusioned with the church and with man. He decided to do things “his own way”. While never rejecting Christ, David rejected the church that bore His name and the idea of religion organized by man. These were dark decades of life, brought on by his own rebellion to God’s plan. This led to two divorces, broken family, and much pain. The wages of sin started to set in big time until finally David, just as the prodigal son, “came to his senses”

Through God’s grace, David paid the price for his decades of rebellion and self centered behaviour, but God led him through those days and back to the throne. It was a long hard journey, but Jesus was there every step of the way with strength and wisdom to led David and his new family through. There were lessons tto be learned in family, health, finances, employment, relationship, and theology. Day by day the picture became more and more clear, and faith grew.

Finally ending up in Texas, David has found the path intended for him, and the message God has for the world, Chayim! Life eternal is important, and so is life today. All of life, everything, every moment of every day, every plan for the future, every concept of theology must be brought into alignment with God’s word, his plan, the instruction book. Church is not something that we do, church is who we are, how we live, it is life.

Today David is a committed husband and father of 12 on a small health focused farm, teaching online to support the family, and serving God through Chayim Ministries.
