Chayim Ministries is founded on the principle of the word “lives” in the bible
referring equally to here today as well as there tomorrow
The Hebrew word for life has a special ending that is similar to the plural ending (im) but slightly different (ayim), specifically indicating that it is double, or a pair. The ending of the word chaim means specifically two lives, which speaks of God’s plan for our life here on earth, and the life to come. In English we talk about a pair of sunglasses, a pair of socks, a pair of trousers, but in Hebrew this special sound that goes at the end of the word lets you know that there is a pair.It signifies plurality, but not more than two. A double, a twin, or a pair.

MichnasAYIM = a pair of trousers
MishkafAYIM = a pair of spectacles
GarbAYIM = a pair of socksAnd so it goes on. But here are a few other less obvious words with the same ending:
MAYIM = water
YerushalAYIM = Jerusalem
ChAYIM = lifeA pair of waters? A pair of Jerusalems? A pair of lives? Yes, yes and yes! Water is dual because of the ‘waters above and the waters below’ which both burst forth during the flood (Genesis 7:11). Jerusalem is plural because of the Jerusalem here on this earth and the new Jerusalem to come (Revelation 21:2). There are two of them. This one and the next one. And the same with the word for life. This life in the here and now, and the life to come in the עולם הבא (olam ha ba), or world to come. It is interesting that the word for life is of a pair – specifically two of them. Not one life. Not a plurality of lives, but just two – divided by the Day of the Lord and judgment.

So the Hebrew word “Chayim” means “Life” but is plural. We see this as a message that God cares about your eternal life, and also your life today, now, here. Both are equally important to Him. Likewise God’s church should be equally concerned with life today as it is with life eternal. This is our mission, to bring a holistic approach to following Christ in all aspects of life!
Who We Are
Our Mission
Our mission is to reach those wounded by religion, those uncomfortable with the traditions of man dominating theology, those lonely and struggling with life.
Bible Based
The ultimate authority on any area of life or theology is God’s written word. The Bible should be our theology, not man’s traditions, not some “accepted belief” decided on by a groups of people. The Bible in it’s entirety is authoritative,, inclusive and sufficient. Every aspect of our daily lives should be governed by God’s word as revealed through the Holy Spirit. When our beliefs are in conflict with scripture, we must conform to scripture over man’s traditions. We are to follow Gods instructions in scripture, through faith, over even what man calls “practical” wisdom. The bible must be interpreted in context, through careful study, open mindedness, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Family integrated
The family is God’s structure for life. Father, Mother, children. This is the basis of society and the core of successful living. We honor that structure as the foundation on which the church exists. The church is a family of families. To this end, we invite children to stay with parents as a family unit whenever possible. Worship together, learn together, fellowship together. The notion of splitting children out by ages is found nowhere in scripture! Age segregation is a construction of man, and therefore does not belong in the church. Children are the blessings of life! Family is the vehicle God created to find success in this world.
Holistic Living
God cares about all of your life! even the mundane day to day struggles we all have. He has left us an instruction book, called the Bible, that contains direct wisdom for all aspects of daily life. Health, wealth, relationships, employment, education, history, theology, it is all in there if we look and honor God above man.
Community Focused
Every family lives in a community, that is the family’s mission field! We seek to serve our own communities through word and deed from a joyful heart. Serving is not something to do, it is who we are! We spread the Gospel and the Light of Christ by caring for our neighbor, sharing and caring about their lives even more than our own. Not from obligation but from desire.
